Course Description

The Business Ready Module is a six-week, one-hour, virtual course designed for students to develop and understand basic business structure. Throughout the course, you will learn fundamental and essential business practices. This module provides you with an understanding of the set-aside programs offered by the federal government and the Small Business Administration (SBA). Additionally, you will create a sustainable business model and marketing materials for federal contracting. This course is offered on two platforms—self-paced, or with a live instructor. 

Course Materials:

All sessions and resources for this course are available through GPI’s Google Classroom platform. Students are free to access all information in Google Classroom for their review of topics discussed. Students will have access to the information for the duration of the course.

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have:

• A Business Name Approved
• An Employer Identification Number (EIN)
• Their Business Registered within their State
• A Clear Understanding of a Business Structure
• An Understanding of the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Codes
• An Understanding of What the Federal Government Purchases

Course Description:

The Government Ready Module is a six-week, one-hour, virtual course designed to assist students in creating a marketing strategy when engaging with Federal agencies. Participants in the Government Ready Module must have completed the Business Ready Module. Throughout this module, students will be exposed to understanding the SBA’s certification programs and required documentation. Our instructors use various federal databases to demonstrate how to leverage those certifications when marketing to the federal government. This course also gives students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience relevant to collaborating, building capacity, and determining the materials required when marketing to the federal government. This course is offered on two platforms—self-paced, or with a live instructor.

Course Description

The Contract Ready Module is a six-week, one-hour, virtual course designed specifically with a focus on SBA’s Mentor-Protégé Program and the 8(a) Business Development Program. Participants in the Contract Ready Module must have completed the Business Ready and Government Ready Modules. In this module, GPI will focus on the importance for business owners to understand what must be included in their business plan when applying for the Mentor-Protégé Program and the 8(a) Business Development Program. Additionally, business owners will understand how to:

• build capacity in their business;
• create a capture management team;
• identify potential teaming partners and mentors;
• review RFPs;
• understand cost proposals; understand what accounting systems are required when bidding on Federal contracts; and
• much more.

This course is offered on two platforms—self-paced, or with a live instructor.
